Welcome to Family Caregiver Path
You’re not alone on this journey
My Story
I know what it feels like to step into caregiving with no roadmap and no warning.
When I started helping care for my mom, I wasn’t prepared for what it would actually ask of me. My finances stretched in ways I didn’t anticipate. My emotions ran higher than I expected. And I was figuring everything out the hard way — one difficult, sometimes overwhelming day at a time.
Nobody handed me a guide. Nobody told me what programs existed, what questions to ask at doctor’s appointments, or how to take care of myself while showing up fully for someone I loved. I learned by doing, by struggling, and eventually — slowly — by finding my footing.
That experience is why Family Caregiver Path exists.
Why I Created This Blog
I created this space for every adult child who is walking the path I once walked — caring for an aging parent and trying to do it well, even when “well” feels out of reach.
Maybe you’re navigating finances you weren’t prepared for. Maybe you’re managing medical appointments, dealing with resistance, worrying about falls, or simply trying not to burn out before the end of the week. Wherever you are in this journey, I want you to find something here that helps — honest, practical, and compassionate guidance from someone who has genuinely been in the trenches.
No judgment. No perfectly wrapped answers. Just real talk from someone who understands.
A Note to You
If you’re reading this, you’re already doing something remarkable. Showing up for your mom — even on the days you feel like you have nothing left — is one of the most profound acts of love there is.
My hope is that this blog becomes a place you return to when things feel heavy. A resource that gives you something useful. A reminder that you don’t have to have it all figured out, and that asking for help is not a failure — it’s wisdom.
You’ve got this. And I’m here walking alongside you. 💛
